NRI Institute of Medical Sciences was established and it was started functioning from the academic year 2012-13. It was located at a distance of 32 kms from Waltair (Visakhapatnam) Railway Station, 29 kms from RTC bus complex, 40 kms from the Naval Airport and 20 kms from the upcoming Bogapuram International Airport on the National Highway from Chennai to Kolkatta.

Anil Neerukonda Hospital was established with all basic specialities in the year 2011 with a bed strength of 300. Now the same hospital has been upgraded as teaching hospital with 1058 beds having 20 specialities, 8 superspecialities along with 24hours Central Blood Bank, Emergency Medicine, Central Diaognist Lab, Radiology with MRI,CT & Ultra Scans, Central Pharmacy and ICU's .
