AFP & MR surveillance, which was organised on 31st May 2023, was aimed at sensitising the post graduates and faculty members from Community Medicine, Paediatrics, Neurology in the areas of Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) surveillance, which is highly critical in any elimination programme. Dr. Harshith G.C, Surveillance Medical Officer (SMO) – WHO, Visakhapatnam shared his experience and knowledge, also about the role of medical colleges in the present scenario. Also, much more inspiring was his appreciation and applaud for Department of Community Medicine, NRIIMS as an active member and for well organisation of workshop.

India, currently in the elimination phase of Measles, with target to achieve Measles elimination and Rubella control by 2023, requires a co-ordinated effort from all the stake-holders.
