This unique department offers students, the clinical acumen to diagnose and the surgical dexterity to treat the eye of its various maladies.
In addition to providing excellent eye care to patients at our department , our faculty members also conduct innovative biomedical research and present progressive, industry-leading academic programs to ophthalmologists and other physicians in the community and worldwide.
Eye health services are becoming more and more important as the UK population ages. An ageing population means there are more and more incidences of age-related diseases of the eye, such as age-related macular degeneration. These eye diseases can be successfully treated if caught early, and can be managed effectively with existing treatments and medicines.
