Young Scientist award to Faculty of pharmacology

The faculty of the Department of Pharmacology, NRI Institute of Medical Sciences, Visakhapatnam, actively participated in the National Pharmacology Conference (APPSCON 2025) held at Guntur on 5–6 December 2025, contributing scholarly work across diverse and emerging domains of pharmacological research.

Dr. Keerthi Tadipudi, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, NRI Institute of Medical Sciences, was conferred the Young Scientist Award for her scientific work entitled “Molecular Docking: Principles, Applications, Role and Future Directions in Drug Discovery and Design.” The award recognized the originality, scientific rigor, and translational relevance of her contribution to computational drug discovery.

Dr. K. Ram Mohan, Assistant professor, presented his research paper titled “Elinzanetant: A Novel Non-Hormonal Neurokinin-3 Receptor Antagonist for Vasomotor Symptom Relief in Postmenopausal and Cancer Survivor Women.” His presentation emphasized novel non-hormonal therapeutic approaches for managing vasomotor symptoms in populations with contraindications to hormone therapy.

Dr. P. Priyadharsini, Assistant professor, presented a research paper entitled “Integration of Pharmacogenomic Testing into Routine Clinical Practice: A Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) Study.” The study explored awareness, perceptions, and practical challenges related to implementing pharmacogenomics in routine clinical settings. In addition, she presented a poster titled “Raising Awareness on 3D Bioprinting for Drug Discovery in Low-Resource Settings,” highlighting the potential of emerging biotechnologies to enhance drug-development research in resource-constrained environments.

Dr. P. Jagadeesh, Professor & HOD served as Judge for research paper presentation and also for the Quiz to post graduate students.

The collective academic contributions and recognitions at APPSCON 2025 reflect the department’s sustained commitment to research excellence, innovation, and advancement of pharmacological sciences.
