World Malaria Day

In observation to World Malaria Day 2023 marked under the theme “Time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement”, department of community medicine organized health education programme to promote health and prevent the disease. People residing in the field area were provided information on causes, symptoms, and preventive measures of malaria.

An interactive session was conducted at rural health training centre by Dr Ved P Kulkarni, Dr S Madhuri and Postgraduates on Integrated Vector control management like the regular use of nets, screens, insecticides, repellents and necessary environmental modifications to prevent themselves from the disease. The session also emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and treatment for those who contract the disease.

Medical social worker and health educator also carried out field level awareness sessions which served as an important platform for spreading awareness about the serious threat that malaria poses, particularly in rural areas. It also highlighted the crucial role that community-based health education and preventive measures play in the fight against this disease.
