WORLD TB DAY 2023 - PUBLIC AWARENESS BY ROLE PLAY
As part of observation of World TB day on 24.03.223, a public awareness programme and role play was organized in the intensive coverage area of RHTC, Anandapuram. The team of Department of Community Medicine with the interns took part in the awareness programme. The objective of the programme was to spread awareness among the public about the importance of following appropriate measures to prevent the spread of TB in the community, the need for preventing stigma & discrimination towards TB patients, which is one of the hindering factors in non-adherence to TB care and. It also highlighted on how we can end TB.
Organizing and creating awareness among the general public is the need of the hour in our combined fight against TB and to attain our National TB elimination goal by 2025. Also, a knowledge dissemination talk along with the role play was held at RHTC for the public by the interns, in which the postgraduates of community medicine were involved under the supervision of faculty.
